As a business, Longshots Digital Action Photography was started in 2005, but it's origins go back to the mid-1980's when Steve purchased his first 35 mm SLR camera from a college friend. For many years, photography remained a just a hobby. When our children started participating in sports, it opened a whole new area to practice the hobby. We entered the digital photography world with our 1st digital camera around 2002. With all the sporting events and Steve's persitence in trying to capture the perfect shot, the changeover from film to digital was a necessity. Then, in late 2004, with the untimely death of our 1st digital camera (an obvious sign to Steve that it was time to upgrade his equipment), we entered the digital SLR world with the purchase of a Canon 20D body and 3 lenses. Since there had been quite a bit of interest from other parents in the projects we created for our own children, we decided the time had come to start up a business, thus the beginning of Longshots Digital Action Photography. |
